Yoga Self Development + Teacher Training
2026 Program Policies
Delivery Methods
This training is a comprehensive, experiential journey that integrates body, mind, and heart.
Learning is supported through:
• Live, in-person teaching and guided practice
• Course manual and written assignments
• Student presentations and peer discussion
• Guest teachers and specialty workshops
• Private Facebook Group for reflections, questions, and community connection

Students are encouraged to engage fully with all aspects of the program to receive the deepest benefit and to fulfill certification requirements.
Attendance and Participation
Attendance and active participation are essential to your progress and certification.
• Students are expected to attend all scheduled sessions
• Missing more than two sessions will require a meeting with Shell Andréa to reassess your commitment and create a plan to complete missed hours
• Make-up sessions can be arranged for a fee of $140 CAD per session
• Please arrive on time and remain for the full class. Consistent presence is part of your Sadhana (spiritual discipline)
Your participation in all aspects of the program, including practice, discussion, and assignments, reflects your readiness to embody the role of a Yoga teacher.
Certification Requirements
To receive certification, students must:
• Complete all required training hours
• Submit all written and practical assignments
• Demonstrate comprehension and integration of course material through participation and teaching practice
• Uphold the ethical and behavioral standards outlined below
Certification is granted at the discretion of the lead teacher upon fulfillment of these requirements.
AI and Independent Learning Policy
This training emphasizes self-reflection, direct experience, and embodied understanding: qualities that cannot be replicated by artificial intelligence tools. While AI may be used for research or grammar assistance, students are not permitted to use AI to generate or complete assignments, essays, or reflections. Doing so will be considered academic dishonesty and may result in loss of certification eligibility. Learning is retained best through personal effort, reflection, and self-inquiry, when the knowledge arises from within, not borrowed from a screen.
Illness Prevention and Wellness Policy
Our training environment is a shared sacred space. To protect the health and safety of all participants:
• Use common sense. Discern between wearing a mask or staying home if you are experiencing symptoms of illness such as fever, cough, sore throat, or other contagious conditions.
• Notify Shell Andréa as soon as possible so that a make-up plan can be arranged
• Practice good hand hygiene before and after physical assists or use of shared props
• Keep props (bolsters, straps, mats) clean and, when possible, bring your own
• If you test positive for a contagious illness, follow current public health guidelines before returning to class
We practice Ahimsa (non-harming) by caring for one another’s well-being through these simple acts of awareness.
Payment and Refund Policy
• Accepted Payment Methods: Cheque, cash, or e-transfer
• Deposit: $500 non-refundable deposit to secure your space
• Full Payment: $3,600 + GST due three weeks prior to the course start date
• Early Bird Rate: $3,200 + GST applies only if full payment is received before the early bird deadline
Refund Policy:
All payments are non-refundable. Students who must withdraw for personal reasons may defer and complete their remaining hours in a future training (subject to availability).
Interruption of Training Due to Unforeseen Circumstances
If unforeseen life events such as illness, injury, family emergency, or job change prevent full participation:
• The no-refund policy remains in effect
• Students may request a leave of absence and return if/when a future program is offered to complete certification
Instructor Availability
If Shell Andréa is unable to teach:
• For short-term absences, sessions may be rescheduled
• For long-term absences (affecting more than 75 hours of training), students may request a partial refund for the portion not delivered
• In the unlikely event the entire program must be cancelled, a refund may be issued
• The instructor reserves the right to move any teaching to an online/virtual platform
Code of Conduct and Ethical Behaviour
Our Sangha (community) is built upon integrity, respect, and compassion.
Unethical behaviour includes but is not limited to:
• Plagiarism or misrepresentation of one’s work
• Consistent lateness or absenteeism
• Disrespectful conduct toward peers or teachers
• Breach of confidentiality regarding personal stories shared in class
When issues arise, they will be discussed privately and documented. After three recorded instances of unethical behaviour, certification may be withheld, or the student may be asked to leave the program without refund.
Zero Tolerance Policy:
Harassment, sexual harassment, bullying, or violence of any kind will result in immediate dismissal with no refund.
Confidentiality
All discussions, personal experiences, and stories shared within the training environment are to remain confidential. This practice builds the trust and safety necessary for authentic learning and self-discovery.
Complaint and Grievance Procedure
Concerns or complaints may be brought directly to Shell Andréa in confidence. All matters will be handled with transparency, fairness, and compassion, in alignment with Yogic principles of Satya (truthfulness) and Ahimsa (non-harming).
Anti-Retaliation Policy
Shell Andréa Yoga + Kirtan maintains a zero-tolerance stance against retaliation or victimization of any individual who, in good faith, raises a concern or reports a violation of policy or ethics.
Agreement
Enrollment in this Yoga Teacher Training indicates that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these policies. These guidelines uphold the integrity of the training and support a safe, compassionate, and transformative learning environment for all participants.
